CEG puts businesses on the right side of economic and environmental sustainability. We can achieve this with a strong Management Team and Operations & Engineering Team.

Our Management Team is experienced in business growth, investment control, financial control, project development, safety management and operations management. Our team has a broad background in environmental emission reduction technology development, power and heat generation engineering and coal mining production.

Our Operations and Engineering Team work shifts to process organic waste streams into biocoal and biochar products. They have been extensively trained to become competent Torrefaction Plant Operators and they work in multiple small teams with the goal of maximizing safe production.

Martijn Dekker
Head of R&D and Managing Director

Martijn Dekker supports the maturing phase of the unique technology for the torrefaction of organic waste of CEG as Head of R&D. 

Martijn received a PhD in theoretical physics upon which he joined Philips Research in 1993. After a series of technical management positions in LG.Philips Displays and Philips Personal Care division, he joined the LED start-up Lemnis Lighting in 2007. In 2013 he continued to contribute to LED lighting in an independent role and supported LED technology company Seaborough from the very start and was the CEO of Carus, a LED lamp design and manufacturing company in Germany, till 2017.

Now he is excited to have the opportunity to contribute with the CEG team to the world’s transition to renewable energy by ramping up to industrial scale this unique technology for producing biocoal from biobased waste streams.


Neil Butler
Director Product and Process Development

Neil Butler, CEng, MIMMM, is technical director of Clean Electricity Generation B.V. and managing director of CEG Technology UK Ltd and of Bio2Carbon Ltd. Neil is a most experienced engineer, for over 25 years leading and managing complex energy system implementations all over the world.

Neil has worked with clients such as Arcelor Mittal, BP, US EPA and Gazprom, among others. He further brings in more than 25 years of practical experience in designing, engineering, building and operating power plants using unconventional gases and organic waste.


Stuart Paskett
VP of Business Development

Stuart began his career in the US analyzing high-yield and distressed industrial credits before joining the portfolio management team of Climate Change Capital. He was part of the portfolio management team responsible for raising Climate Change Capital’s $1 billion carbon fund. After deploying the fund’s capital across a portfolio of more than 50 carbon mitigation projects, mainly focused on Asia, Stuart assumed responsibility for commissioning carbon mitigation projects in Central Asia. Stuart is proficient in Mandarin Chinese.

Stuart has a proven ability to bridge financial and engineering mindsets. In addition to financial and project management experience, Stuart has consulted on technical mine design and mining feasibility studies. He has a degree from Wharton and an engineering degree from the University of Exeter.


Martijn van Boxel
Manager Finance & Control

Martijn has developed over 15 years of experience in several finance and business control roles within the telecommunications, media and cable industry with NBCUniversal and Liberty Global before moving to CEG one year ago.

He is a strong manager and finance professional with experience in business process and analysis, business strategy, process improvement, mergers & acquisitions and financial modeling. 

He is highly experienced in bridging business with finance and oversees the business and financial operations of CEG and shares responsibility for CEG’s economic and financial performance. He has a MSc in Econometrics from the University of Amsterdam and a MBA from the Amsterdam Business School.


Alan Solomon
Director Pilot Plant

Alan has joined Bio2Carbon in 2018 with his most recent career history  8 years in the Waste & Recycling Industry,

In this phase he ran the largest Materials Recycling Facility in Europe at that time. This was for household recycling waste and was present for the initial installation of equipment, through to processing 300,000 TPA for reuse in our everyday products achieving the WAMITAB TMNH4 qualification. 

Prior to this Alan spent 26 years in the Automotive supply chain, delivering parts to the Global major car manufacturers. It was during this period he trained in Lean Manufacturing / Six sigma, JIT & QCD working within the TS1649 & ISO certification requirements.
